The 15th century arch entrance to the old Hancock Brewery located in the historic market town of Wiveliscombe was in a state of ruin. The Malthouse Flats commissioned Woodlouse Conservation to conduct a sympathetic repair to this once proud statement of architecture. This project required stone repairs and complete repoint with a matched lime putty mortar. During works undertaken, we had the privilege of exploring the elaborate tunnel and cellar system once used to distribute ale from the brewery to the cellars of local public houses.
